Computed Tomography Technologist
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist to independently perform imaging procedures with a high level of technical proficiency. The ideal candidate will utilize established scan protocols and apply prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes while maintaining patient safety and comfort.
Responsibilities
- Independently perform computed tomography procedures using established scan protocols, including contrast administration.
- Utilize complex imaging equipment for the acquisition, analysis, reconstruction, and documentation of image data.
- Demonstrate proper techniques in venipuncture and effectively use power injectors per departmental and manufacturer protocols.
- Administer PO, rectal, and IV contrast according to physician orders and department policy, assessing risk factors prior to administration.
- Interact compassionately with patients and co-workers, showcasing respect and excellent communication skills.
- Identify all patients correctly using two patient identifiers and follow universal protocols during procedures.
- Review patient histories and physician orders, applying specific departmental protocols to ensure optimal data acquisition.
- Document patient history in the electronic record as required and ensure all exams are properly coded and charged.
- Perform additional duties as assigned, in compliance with system-wide competencies and behaviors.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology or completion of an accredited CNMT program.
- CT registry must be obtained within 18 months of the primary registry acquisition or date of hire if already obtained.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in Radiologic Technology required.
- ARRT Certification and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification are mandatory.
- Compliance with Pennsylvania Acts 31, 33, 34, and 73 is required.
Schedule
This position is full-time, offering rotating shifts of 10 hours across 4 days a week.
Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
