Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Rotating Shift - 12 x 3: (2) 12-hour shifts and (2) 8-hour shifts/week, mixed daylight and evening. Three 12-hour shifts from 7 AM to 7 PM or 11 AM to 11 PM per week with every other or every third weekend coverage based upon needs.

Job Description

The CT Technologist independently performs imaging procedures, utilizing established scan protocols, and applies prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes. Candidates should have experience with computed tomography (CT) procedures and be able to demonstrate a strong ability to interact with both patients and co-workers while showing a high level of caring, listening, dignity, and respect.

Responsibilities

• Perform computed tomography procedures, including contrast administration, utilizing established protocols.
• Adjust protocols and apply prescribed ionizing radiation appropriately for diagnostic purposes.
• Utilize complex imaging equipment for the acquisition, analysis, reconstruction, and documentation of image data.
• Demonstrate proper technique in venipuncture and use of power injectors as per set protocols.
• Administer oral, rectal, and IV contrast per physician orders and departmental policy.
• Assess patients for potential risk factors prior to contrast media administration.
• Communicate instructions to patients clearly to help alleviate fears and solicit cooperation.
• Identify all patients properly using two identifiers and employ universal protocol when performing procedures.
• Review patient history and physician orders, applying departmental protocols for data acquisition.
• Document patient history in electronic records as required.
• Ensure proper coding, networking, and charge entry for exams performed.
• Perform other duties as assigned in accordance with system-wide competencies and behaviors.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology or completion of an accredited CNMT program.
• CT registry must be obtained within 18 months of acquiring your primary registry or upon hire if already obtained.
• At least 2 years of experience required.
• ARRT Certificate in Radiologic Technology.
• Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification (NMTC).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• State-specific regulations such as ACT 31, 33, 34, and 73.
