Registered Nurse - Acute Care Float

This is a night shift position, working 3x12-hour shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM, including a 30-minute lunch break. Weekend shifts are required every other week.

Job Description

As a Registered Nurse in an Acute Care Float position, you will be assigned to various units as determined by the nursing supervisor. You will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care across different specialties, adapting to the needs of each unit.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced acute care environment.
• Assist with patient assessments, care planning, and implementation of care.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor patient progress and report changes in condition to the nursing supervisor.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Cerner EMR.
• Float to various units based on staffing needs, including but not limited to Medical, Surgical, Trauma, Oncology, and more.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a comparable acuity hospital.
• Current and active unencumbered RN license in Tennessee or a multi-state license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Experience with Cerner EMR is mandatory.
