Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU - Day Shift

Schedule

Day shift with 3 shifts of 12 hours each, every other weekend, and holidays required.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring that the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees, with a focus on patient safety and quality outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
• Develop individualized plans of care in collaboration with the patient/family and interdisciplinary team.
• Facilitate patient information sharing for team conferences.
• Provide direct patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission.
• Communicate changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care.
• Supervise and provide direction to ancillary nursing personnel.
• Maintain environmental safety in accordance with hospital policies.
• Participate in team building activities to enhance unit functioning.
• Assume charge responsibilities as requested following the orientation period.
• Engage in continuous professional development through education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS required prior to first shift (CIRH ONLY).
• Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience preferred.
• ICU experience is required.
