Monday - Friday; 3pm - 11:30pm EST, on call/callback, holidays and occasional weekends

Job Description

The CT Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging scans while ensuring patient safety and comfort. This role involves verifying patient identity and exam details, coordinating with physicians, and maintaining accurate patient records.

Responsibilities

• Confirm patient identity and exam verification prior to initiating scans.
• Prepare patients for scans and explain the procedure to alleviate anxiety.
• Insert IVs as necessary for the procedures.
• Position patients appropriately, utilizing safe patient handling techniques.
• Document all necessary components accurately in EPIC and ensure images are sent to the PACS system correctly after exams.
• Maintain a clean and safe scanning environment.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current registration in New York State with injection therapy certification.
• Completion of formal training in an accredited School of Radiologic Technology.
• Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• NYS licensure (must obtain prior to starting the position).
• Two (2) years of experience in a Level 1 trauma center.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association ONLY).

Preferred Qualifications

• Injection certification preferred and must be willing to complete during orientation.
• Knowledge of Philips and Siemens equipment is preferred.
