Preoperative / PACU Registered Nurse

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

On call requirement includes roughly 3-4 weeknight calls and one 24-hour weekend call in an 8-week period. Call hours are as follows:

• Weeknight call hours: 9 PM - 7 AM
• Weekend call hours: 7 AM - 7 AM

Shifts may vary and include:

• 6 AM - 6:30 PM
• 7 AM - 7:30 PM
• 8 AM - 8:30 PM
• 9 AM - 9:30 PM

Job Description

The Preoperative / PACU Registered Nurse will provide patient care and ensure the safety, comfort, and well-being of patients during the preoperative and postoperative phases. The role involves collaboration with surgical teams and monitoring patient conditions before and after procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for surgical procedures.
• Monitor patients in the recovery room and ensure their stability.
• Administer medications and prepare patients for discharge.
• Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding care plans.
• Collaborate with medical staff to ensure optimal patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN license required.
• Minimum experience in preoperative and postoperative nursing preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification as necessary.
