Registered Respiratory Therapist

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Day 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:00); Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:00) with every other weekend required.

Job Description

The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) will be responsible for providing comprehensive respiratory care services to patients across various age groups, including adults and geriatric populations. This role requires skills and experience in critical care, including but not limited to management of mechanical ventilation, performing arterial punctures, and the administration of medications. The RRT will work a block schedule and may be expected to float between units as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory therapy interventions and assessments.
• Manage ventilator support and patients on respiratory medication therapies.
• Conduct arterial blood gas analysis and interpret results.
• Collaborate with nursing and medical staff to develop respiratory care plans.
• Educate patients and families on respiratory care procedures and equipment usage.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a critical care setting.
• Active RRT certification and Washington State license required.
• ACLS, BLS, NRP, and PALS certifications are mandatory.
• Proficiency in charting systems, specifically Epic.
