Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Radiation Therapist to join our oncology department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in radiation therapy, preferably with specific experience in Radiology. You will be responsible for administering radiation treatments to patients and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Administer radiation therapy treatments to patients as prescribed by the radiation oncologist.
• Operate varian TrueBeam and IX systems, and utilize Aria software for treatment planning and patient management.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with legal and regulatory guidelines.
• Educate patients and their families about the treatment process and address any concerns they may have.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current NY state license as a Radiation Therapist is required.
• One year of radiation therapy experience is preferred.
• Graduate from an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology.
• Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Current Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification.
• Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
• Maintain all registries and licenses as required by state and federal laws.
