Neonatal Intensive Care Registered Nurse
Job Description
The Neonatal Intensive Care Registered Nurse is responsible for providing specialized care to NICU patients using the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policy and procedures. The NICU RN demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership to plan and deliver safe patient care while maintaining clinical competencies through continuing education.
Responsibilities
- Utilize the Nursing Process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
- Demonstrate leadership and critical thinking in the delivery of care.
- Delegate patient care priorities in accordance with the education and experience of the staff available.
- Provide direction and supervision of assigned personnel delivering patient care.
- Maintain clinical competencies through ongoing education and training.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience as an RN in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
- Prior travel nursing experience is required.
- Current BLS, ACLS, NRP, PALS, and STABLE certifications are mandatory.
Schedule
This position is a 12-hour day shift from 07:00 to 19:00.
Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
