Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Schedule

07:00 AM - 05:00 PM, Full-time, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day. On-call and weekends required, typically every second or third weekend.

Job Description

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist will perform a wide variety of routine and advanced imaging procedures and will provide support for other imaging technologists as needed. The role requires flexibility to work different shifts and at other campuses as needed. The technologist must be capable of troubleshooting basic maintenance, participating in QA, and resolving issues related to image processing and the image archiving system. Continuous education and adherence to safety protocols and imaging competencies are expected.

  • Promote staff growth and development through collaboration with management, coworkers, and physicians.
  • Provide meaningful assistance to radiologists and referring physicians.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure compliance with all relevant policies and procedures.
  • Perform examinations/procedures to assist in patient throughput.
  • Ensure completed exams are scanned and stored correctly in PACS.
  • Troubleshoot and report any equipment malfunctions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • Graduation from an accredited school of Radiology Technology or equivalent.
  • Preferred: 1 year of experience in a clinical nuclear medicine setting.
  • Basic computer experience required.
  • Nuclear Medicine Technology (N) certification by ARRT or NMTCB required.
  • State Licensure required - Texas: MRT by TMB.
  • BLS required (AHA only).
