Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Schedule

Full-time position with a schedule of 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Must stay past 5 PM until all cases are seen and finished for the day. Weekend and on-call work is required.

Job Description

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist will perform a wide variety of routine and advanced imaging procedures. This role provides support for other imaging technologists as needed and helps facilitate smooth and efficient patient flow. The technologist will demonstrate flexibility by working other shifts and/or at other campuses as needed or required. Responsibilities include troubleshooting basic maintenance, participating in quality assurance, and resolving issues related to image processing and the image archiving system.

  • Provide meaningful assistance to radiologists and referring physicians to enhance physician satisfaction.
  • Protect patient confidentiality and ensure compliance with policies and standards of care.
  • Adapt patient assessment, treatment, and care methods to meet individual patient needs.
  • Ensure completed exams are scanned and stored correctly in PACS.
  • Troubleshoot and report any equipment malfunctions to the appropriate personnel.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology or other accepted equivalent.
  • 1 year of experience in a clinical nuclear medicine setting preferred.
  • Basic computer experience required.
  • Nuclear Medicine Technology (N) certification by ARRT or NMTCB required.
  • State Licensure required; Texas MRT by TMB.
  • BLS certification required (AHA only).
