Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the General Surgery department provides optimal patient care utilizing knowledge and skills within the context of the nursing process. This role is accountable for individualized patient outcomes over an entire episode of care, focusing on comprehensive nursing services to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, including their families and caregivers.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for the surgical population.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
• Provide direct nursing care to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures.
• Ensure adherence to safety and quality standards in a busy trauma surgical environment.
• Maintain thorough and accurate patient documentation.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current NV State RN license prior to start.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, Pre-op/Recovery RN, PACU, OR, and SDS.
• 2 years of experience in a Trauma OR setting is required.
