Nights, 6 PM - 6 AM, weekends required.

Job Description

The Travel Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) will provide high-quality care to patients in the emergency department. The nurse will manage patients of all ages, including those with varying degrees of acuity. This role requires quick assessment and triage of patients, ensuring the completion of necessary EMTALA paperwork according to regulatory guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to patients with ESI levels 1-5.
• Manage a patient ratio of 4-5:1 for average ESI level 3 patients.
• Handle cases including stroke, STEMI, trauma, and sepsis.
• Perform clinical skills such as PIV insertion, foley catheter placement, and wound care.
• Assist with procedures including art line, central line, and chest tube placements.
• Transport patients and respond to call lights as needed.
• Participate in psych patient placement calls on nights and weekends.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• At least 2 years of Emergency Department RN experience.
• A minimum of 1 year of travel nursing experience.
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications.
• Experience as a preceptor or charge nurse preferred, but not required.
• Willingness to assist in precepting in the future.
