Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

Job Description

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is responsible for assisting residents with activities of daily living and providing basic nursing care under the direct supervision of licensed nursing staff. This role is essential in maintaining a safe and clean environment while ensuring residents receive quality care that respects their dignity and privacy.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and oral hygiene.
• Respond to call lights and assist with food service, including serving and collecting food trays.
• Measure and record food and liquid intake and output, including drainage systems.
• Support nursing staff with routine treatments and procedures, such as warm/cold applications and collecting specimens.
• Take and record vital signs, including weight and height.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of resident rooms and work areas.
• Report any changes in patient conditions or behaviors to the supervising licensed nurse.
• Participate in required meetings and educational programs to ensure up-to-date knowledge and skills.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must be certified through the South Dakota Board of Nursing.

Schedule

This position includes varied day and night shifts.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
