Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 6pm-6:30am and works every 6th weekend.

Job Description

Under limited supervision, provides, plans, directs, and evaluates total nursing care in the Emergency Department. Relates effectively with other shifts for continuity of care and maintains satisfactory relations with other departments. Participates in all phases of education and the maintenance of records, policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Maintain confidentiality and uphold a high standard of courtesy and cooperation with co-workers, patients, and visitors.
• Incorporate mission, vision, and core values into departmental practice.
• Plan, organize, and direct nursing functions, including direct patient care.
• Utilize gathered data to determine priorities for patient care and formulate a plan of care.
• Administer medications and intravenous solutions skillfully and correctly.
• Evaluate patient/family responses and modify the plan of care as necessary.
• Participate in orientation and in-service training for personnel.
• Support and enforce infection control policies and procedures.
• Cooperate and maintain good rapport with nursing and medical staff, other departments, patients, and visitors.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current Iowa licensure as a Registered Nurse.
• Healthcare Provider BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC certifications.
• Mandatory Abuse Reporter Certification.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English proficiently.
