Registered Nurse (RN) - Med/Surg/Telemetry - Evening Shift

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Med/Surg/Telemetry team. This position is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing interventions and patient care. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to providing high-quality care and ensuring positive patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Assess and reassess patient needs; plan, implement, and evaluate nursing interventions.
• Provide patient care based on established protocols and standards of practice.
• Respect each patient as an individual and promote their dignity and self-regard.
• Educate patients and families based on identified learning needs and readiness to learn.
• Collaboratively plan and prepare patients for discharge, incorporating necessary support systems.
• Delegate and supervise nursing interventions performed by others as appropriate.
• Manage patient care prioritization and seek assistance when needed.
• Document all pertinent data and therapeutic interventions accurately and timely.
• Report on patients’ statuses to healthcare team members for continuity of care.
• Proactively identify patient safety risks and reduce healthcare errors.
• Safely administer medications and IV therapy according to protocols.
• Assess and manage patient pain levels effectively.
• Provide ongoing assessments and education for surgical patients and their families.
• Utilize pain management devices and troubleshoot relevant equipment.

Schedule

This is a 32-hour evening shift position, requiring availability from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, including every other weekend and holiday.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• 1 year of Med/Surg experience preferred.
• 1 year of Telemetry experience preferred.
• Current MA RN license required.
• ACLS certification upon hire; BLS certification required with ACLS obtained within 60 days.
• PALS certification preferred.
