Job Description

The Physical Therapist assists patients in reaching maximum performance by evaluating, planning, and implementing therapeutic programs. Responsibilities include the prevention, identification, correction, and alleviation of acute or prolonged movement dysfunction of anatomic or physiologic origin.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients' physical and functional status including musculoskeletal system, neurological system, and functional mobility skills.
• Analyze evaluation results and set appropriate short- and long-term goals.
• Select, administer, and monitor treatment modalities such as therapeutic exercise and functional mobility training.
• Reassess patients’ responses to treatment, adjusting programs as necessary.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of evaluations, progress notes, and billing records.
• Participate in discharge planning to ensure appropriate post-therapy support.
• Stay informed about current trends in physical therapy and attend relevant educational programs.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with patients, staff, and external agencies.
• Assist in policy and procedure recommendations for the Rehabilitation Department.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy or equivalent.
• Current State license (or eligibility for license) as a Physical Therapist.
• 1-2 years of progressively responsible related experience in physical therapy.
• Strong interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills.

Physical Demands

The role requires the ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds and the ability to stand for extended periods. Manual dexterity and effective communication are also necessary.
