Registered Nurse - Intensive Care Unit

Schedule

This position involves 4 ten-hour shifts with on-call responsibilities as required. Please note that block scheduling requests cannot be accommodated.

Job Description

As a Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit, you will assess patients to determine their mental, physical, and spiritual needs. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary health care team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individual care plans. You will also provide thorough explanations and instructions to patients and responsible parties while demonstrating strong clinical judgment to recognize and report changes in patient conditions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments of patients' needs in collaboration with the health care team.
• Develop and implement individualized plans of care.
• Provide detailed explanations and instructions to patients and their caregivers.
• Utilize nursing clinical judgment to monitor and report changes in patient condition.
• Contribute to a positive workplace by managing conflict with professional communication skills.
• Meet Core Measure responsibilities related to patient care.
• Participate in continuing education to enhance skills and knowledge.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current Illinois Registered Nurse license
• Current CPR/BLS Card
• ACLS certification (specific ACLS certifications based on department requirements)
