Schedule

Mid shift, 10:30am - 11:00pm, with rotating weekends.

Job Description

The Emergency Department Registered Nurse provides direct and indirect patient care, evaluates outcomes, and consults with specialists and ancillary departments as required. This role is essential in adjusting nursing care processes to ensure optimal patient care and flow through the Emergency Room. The nurse will address psychosocial, physical, and general care needs while effectively communicating with patients and their families, as well as with ED physicians regarding changes in patient status and diagnostic study results. The ability to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or treatment response is critical.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care in the Emergency Department.
• Evaluate patient outcomes and adjust care plans as necessary.
• Consult with specialists and ancillary departments to enhance patient care.
• Meet the psychosocial and communication needs of patients and families.
• Quickly and accurately respond to changes in patient condition or treatment response.
• Communicate effectively with ED physicians regarding patient status and treatment.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current Registered Nurse license within the State of Illinois.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification required.
• ENPC, TNCC, and TNS certifications preferred.
