Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

Schedule

Night shift, 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM, Monday through Friday only (no weekends).

Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department provides both direct and indirect patient care. Responsibilities include evaluating patient outcomes, consulting with specialists and ancillary departments, and adjusting care processes to ensure optimal patient flow and care. This role requires an ability to effectively communicate with both patients and family members, as well as demonstrating professional initiative and responsibility. Registered Nurses will respond quickly to changes in patient condition and interact routinely with ED physicians regarding patient status and diagnostic study results.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care in the Emergency Department.
• Evaluate patient outcomes and adjust nursing care as necessary.
• Communicate changes in patient status to ED physicians.
• Meet the psychosocial, physical, and general care needs of patients and families.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or response to treatment.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Illinois.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications required.
• ENPC, TNCC, and/or TNS preferred.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
