Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

Mid-shift, 11:00 AM - 11:30 PM, with rotating weekends

Job Description

Provides direct and indirect patient care in the Emergency Department. Evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialists and ancillary departments as required, and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care and flow through the ER. Provides care that meets the psychosocial, physical, and general aspects of care; meets the communication needs of patients and families; and demonstrates initiative and responsibility indicative of professional expectations. Communicates with ED physicians about changes in patient's status, symptomatology, and results of diagnostic studies. Able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care to individuals in the Emergency Department.
• Monitor patient conditions and adjust care plans as necessary.
• Ensure communication with physicians regarding changes in patient status.
• Provide psychosocial support to patients and their families.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current Registered Nurse license within the State of Illinois.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification required.
• ENPC, TNCC, TNS certifications preferred.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
