Registered Nurse - Operating Room (Trauma Experience Preferred)

NOC Shift: 19:00 – 07:30 (3 × 11.5 hr shifts per week, totaling 35 hrs)

Job Description

The role involves working in a Level-1 Adult Trauma and Level-2 Pediatric Trauma unit within a major academic medical center's Main Operating Room. The unit consists of over 15 multi-specialty operating rooms, providing care for a variety of surgical cases.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Scrubbing and circulating for a diverse range of surgical procedures including, but not limited to, trauma, general surgery, urology, GYN, robotic surgeries, plastic surgeries, pediatrics, orthopedics, thoracic surgeries, and vascular surgeries.
• Adhering to safety and health protocols while providing high-quality patient care.
• Collaborating with surgical teams to ensure optimal outcomes and patient safety.
• Floating to other units, including the Ambulatory Surgery Unit, as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

Candidates must meet the following qualifications:

• Minimum of 4 years of clinical experience, with a strong preference for trauma experience.
• Previous travel experience is required.
• Current certifications including BLS and New York State RN Licensure.
• Required trauma level 1 experience and familiarity with various surgical services, including orthopedics, neurosurgery, robotics, and vascular procedures.
