Job Description

The Operating Room Nurse provides essential surgical patient care by assessing, planning, and implementing nursing care before, during, and after surgical procedures. This role emphasizes creating and maintaining a sterile environment, offering pre and post-operative education, and ensuring continual monitoring of the patient's physical and emotional well-being throughout the surgical care continuum.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient assessments prior to surgical procedures.
• Maintain a sterile and safe surgical environment.
• Provide pre and post-operative education to patients.
• Monitor patient’s physical and emotional status during surgical care.
• Collaborate with surgical team members to coordinate patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2+ years of current Operating Room experience.
• Experience with vascular, orthopedic, trauma, general surgery, robotics, urology, and ENT.
• Travel experience is required.
• EPIC Experience is mandatory.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
• Both scrub and circulate experience are necessary.
• Must possess a valid New York Temporary Health Care Service Agency License/Registration Certificate.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Candidate must have a personal vehicle.
