Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift, 4x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30). Must work every other weekend and holidays as needed.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse for our Labor and Delivery unit. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in high-risk and high-acuity environments. The nurse will function as a Baby Nurse during deliveries, providing continuous care for newborns until transfer to the postpartum unit. Candidates must possess the skills and certifications required to handle complex obstetrical cases and neonatal care.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for mothers and newborns in high-volume, high-risk delivery situations.
• Circulate during deliveries and perform necessary newborn assessments, including administering Vitamin K injections and eye care.
• Collaborate with care teams to support midwifery clients and private obstetricians.
• Utilize EPIC for electronic fetal monitoring and patient charting.
• Float to postpartum and antepartum units as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Labor and Delivery, with preference for candidates with 5 years or more high-risk experience.
• Active compact RN license required at the time of submission.
• Current certifications in BLS and NRP are required; ACLS and AWHONN certifications are preferred.
• Must pass a clinical review prior to submission.
• References must include current supervisory endorsements.
