Registered Nurse - High Risk Labor and Delivery

Location is within a Providence facility.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift: 4x12 hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30); Every other weekend and holidays as needed.

Job Description

We are seeking skilled Registered Nurses with experience in a high acuity, high-volume Labor and Delivery setting. Candidates will be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients during labor, delivery, and postpartum, ensuring adherence to best practices and protocols.

Responsibilities

• Function as a Baby Nurse during delivery and provide newborn care until transfer to postpartum.
• Conduct assessments and administer medications such as Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate.
• Provide newborn care, including eyes and Vitamin K injections.
• Maintain effective communication with multidisciplinary teams.
• Participate in high-risk deliveries and assist with postpartum care.
• Utilize electronic fetal monitoring systems (EPIC) as required.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in high acuity Labor and Delivery environments.
• Current RN licensure with active compact license.
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP; preferred certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced.
• Proven supervisory references and proof of required certifications must be submitted.
