Operating Room Nurse

Job Description

The Operating Room Nurse demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in the anticipation and planning for the care of patients in the operating room. As a member of the surgical team, the RN works collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other personnel to provide excellent patient care according to state regulations, professional standards, and hospital policies.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the availability of supplies and equipment for surgeries.
• Manage timeliness of surgical cases.
• Communicate effectively with families regarding patient care.
• Update physician preference cards as necessary.
• Scrub and assist physicians during surgical procedures.
• Supervise personnel delivering patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must have ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications (American Heart Association certified).
• Must hold an active Alabama RN or multi-state RN license.
• Minimum of 4 years of recent OR RN experience in a hospital setting.
• Experience as an OR Circulator with Endoscopy experience required.
• Preferably have ENT and GYN experience.

Schedule

This is a full-time position with a schedule of Monday to Friday from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM. The role includes on-call duties of 7 days per month, including one weekend per month, spanning from 3:00 PM to 6:30 AM.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
