Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) provides specialized care to critically ill children. This role involves advanced patient monitoring, administering medications, and managing life-support technologies.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to children in critical condition.
• Monitor and assess patient status, including vital signs and physical condition.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Coordinate and communicate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Assist in procedures such as IV starts, catheterizations, lumbar punctures, and central line dressing changes.
• Manage ventilator settings and provide ventilator care to patients.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of PICU experience required.
• Current PALS certification is required.
