Registered Nurse - Cath Lab

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Preference for 36 hours per week; available shifts are 4x10 or 3x12 hours (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM; 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM), including weekends, holidays, on-call, callback, and charge per unit needs.

Job Description

The Cath Lab specializes in both inpatient and outpatient procedural care, focusing on mechanical and electrical diagnoses and interventions for cardiac patients in the Upstate New York region. This facility features 4 Cath labs and 3 EP labs, serving both adult and pediatric patients with a variety of conditions. The Cath lab is equipped with a comprehensive pre and post-procedural care holding area. The practice model emphasizes collaboration among RN staff and CVT, aiming for optimal patient outcomes and satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care in the Cath lab settings.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for optimal patient outcomes.
• Monitor patients’ vital signs and administer medications as per protocols.
• Assist with a variety of cardiac interventions and diagnostic procedures.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Cath Lab.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA).
• Training in moderate sedation and dysrhythmia telemetry.
• NY RN License is required.
• Hands-on experience with TAVR, Microclip, and Watchmen procedures.
• Experience in Right Heart and Left Heart Hemodynamics, Cardiac Interventions, CTO, PCI, Pericardiocentesis, Vascular Interventions, RotoPro, and LVADs.
• Mechanical Circulatory Support experience (ECMO, Impella, IABP, ProtekDuo, LVADs).
• Structural Heart experience with TAVR, MitraClip, Watchman, CardioMEMS, PFO, ASD, VSD, Valvuloplasty, and ASA.
• Critical care or cardiac experience is required.
