Registered Nurse (RN) - Day Shift

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care through adherence to the nursing care plan. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees, ensuring a safe and effective patient environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission, forming the basis of an individualized care plan.
• Identify teaching needs and goals related to the diagnosis from the nursing admission assessment and collaborate with the patient/family and the interdisciplinary team.
• Provide timely patient information and status updates for team conferences on a weekly basis.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in accordance with policy.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and ensure direct care that prioritizes education for patients and families.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
• Communicate changes in patient status to care providers to support continuity of care and patient safety.
• Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel, delegating tasks appropriately to ensure effective care delivery.
• Contribute positively to the unit's functioning and participate in team-building activities.
• Maintain communication regarding service needs, such as supplies and clinical training, while managing costs effectively.
• Assume charge responsibilities after completing the orientation period as needed.
• Engage in professional development through continuing education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to first shift (CIRH only).
• Minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.

Schedule

This position operates on a day shift schedule, working three 12-hour shifts per week.
