Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit Nurse

This is a 13-week contract position with 3 x 12-hour shifts from 07:00 to 19:30, including weekend coverage every other weekend.

Job Description

As a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit Nurse, you will provide specialized care to post-surgical cardiac patients. You will be responsible for monitoring complex patient conditions, administering treatments, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage patients with complex cardiovascular conditions.
• Administer medications and treatments as per protocol.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Perform emergency interventions as needed for critical patients.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must hold an Associate degree in Nursing (Bachelor's degree preferred).
• 2 years of experience in a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) required.
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications are required.
• NIHSS certification preferred.
• Ability to manage arterial lines, central lines, and care for ventilated patients.
