CVICU RN - Night Shift

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Shift: 3x12 hours, Nights (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) with Holiday Rotation and every other weekend requirement.

Job Description

The CVICU RN will provide specialized nursing care for patients within the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit. The role requires expertise in managing high-acuity patients and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. As part of the nursing team, the RN will support the delivery of high-quality patient care through comprehensive assessments, interventions, and evaluations of patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Manage care for patients undergoing cardiac and neuro assessments.
• Effectively administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Utilize Epic charting for documentation and patient management.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement comprehensive care plans.
• Monitor patients for changes in condition and respond promptly to emergencies.
• Facilitate communication and education for patients and their families.
• Participate in patient safety initiatives and quality improvement practices.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of CVICU experience preferred.
• Current South Carolina RN license or Compact license required.
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required.
• Cardiac and Neuro experience required.
• Epic experience is mandatory.
