Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift, 3x12 hour schedule (19:00 - 07:00). Weekend coverage required every other weekend.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Labor and Delivery team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in fetal heart monitoring, high-risk pregnancy monitoring, and both vaginal and cesarean deliveries. The nurse will float to postpartum as needed and may perform couplet care for both the newborn and maternal patient if required. This position does not require on-call duties.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care for patients in labor and delivery, including monitoring fetal heart rates and assessing high-risk pregnancies.
• Assist in vaginal deliveries and circulating for cesarean sections.
• Float to postpartum as necessary to ensure adequate patient care.
• Perform assessments and provide nursing interventions for both maternal and neonatal patients.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of labor and delivery experience required.
• Current RN licensure in California.
• Certifications: AWHONN Advanced, ACLS, BLS, NRP, FHM, or NCC EFM accepted in lieu of AWHONN.
• Ability to work in an OR suite during cesarean deliveries.
