MRI Technologist - Day Shift
Job Description
Independently performs imaging procedures and a variety of technical tasks for diagnostic purposes, demonstrating sound judgment and initiative for optimal patient care.
Responsibilities
- Practices and maintains MR safety within the department.
- Maintains clinical competency for all exams and equipment.
- Reads and presents relevant information to the physician based on protocol before starting exams.
- Identifies patients using two identifiers and adheres to universal protocols during procedures.
- Reviews patient history and physician orders, applying departmental protocols for effective data acquisition.
- Documents patient history in electronic records as necessary.
- Communicates effectively with patients, explaining procedures clearly to ease concerns and ensure cooperation.
- Ensures proper coding and tracking of exams, updating patient information, and appropriate entry of charges for exams performed.
- Collaborates efficiently with team members across departments to expedite patient care.
- Performs additional duties as assigned in accordance with system-wide competencies and behaviors.
Required Experience & Certifications
- Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology or completion of an accredited CNMT, ARMRIT, or ARDMS program with MR registry.
- MR registry is required within 18 months of obtaining the primary registry or date of hire if the primary registry is already obtained.
- 2 years of experience is required.
- Licenses and Certifications: ARRT Certificate, ARMRIT, NMTC, or ARDMS.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and applicable state licenses are required.
Schedule
This position is for a Day Shift, specifically Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, from 11 AM to 11:30 PM with call coverage on a rotating basis.
Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
