Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Night shift, 3x12.0 hours.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN also supervises Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants, as well as orientees.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to establish individualized care plans.
• Identify teaching needs and goals related to patient diagnoses through collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
• Provide accurate, timely documentation of all assessments, interventions, and patients' responses in accordance with policy.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program, ensuring a focus on educating patients and their significant others.
• Initiate discharge planning from day of admission and patient teaching aligned with anticipated discharge dates.
• Communicate pertinent information about changes in patient status for continuity of care.
• Provide direction and training to ancillary nursing personnel, utilizing effective problem-solving techniques.
• Assure personal and environmental safety in accordance with hospital policies.
• Maintain effective communication with management regarding service needs, including supplies and equipment.
• Assume charge responsibilities as required following the orientation period.
• Pursue professional growth through continuing education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS required prior to first shift (CIRH only).
• Minimum two years of bedside clinical experience is required.
