Registered Nurse - Emergency Department (Night Shift)

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

The shift is from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, working three 12-hour shifts per week. This includes two weekend shifts or four weekend days within a six-week period.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department will provide high-quality patient care to individuals experiencing medical emergencies. The RN will work collaboratively as part of a healthcare team to deliver comprehensive treatment and management of conditions, ensuring compliance with the established standards of care.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in the Emergency Department.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor and manage patients with acute and complex medical conditions.
• Communicate effectively with healthcare team members regarding patient status.
• Document care accurately in the electronic medical record using Epic.
• Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives.
• Provide education and emotional support to patients and families.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Emergency Department setting is required.
• Active RN license required.
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications are required.
• CPI, PALS, and TNCC certifications are preferred.
• Experience with Charge RN and Level II Trauma is preferred.
