Registered Nurse - Neuro PCU

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Nights, 12 hours (7 PM - 7:15 AM), with a guarantee of 36 hours per week. Will float to other PCU/Med Surge floors if needed.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse provides direct care to patients using the nursing process, which includes ongoing assessments and interventions to treat presenting symptoms. The RN functions as a team leader/member and serves as a resource to others, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to establish patient goals and outcomes while meeting the needs of all types of patients.

Responsibilities

• Regularly assess patient needs and provide skilled nursing services as prescribed by the physician's authorized plan of care and accepted standards of evidence-based nursing practice.
• Provide direct patient care, which includes medication administration, treatments, patient education, assisting with transfers, and responding to alarms.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of treatment plans and participate in updating/revising them in collaboration with other team members.
• Comply with all local, state, and federal regulations and guidelines, as well as hospital-specific policies and procedures.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2+ years of RN experience in a Neuro PCU setting is required.
• Active Michigan RN license.
• Active American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Active NIHSS certification.
• Recent travel work history is highly preferred.
