Certified Surgical Technologist or Licensed Vocational Nurse

This position requires a commitment of 5 days per week, with 8-hour shifts from 06:30 to 17:00.

Job Description

The role involves performing a variety of technical duties to assist in preparing and caring for pre-operative patients. Key responsibilities include maintaining aseptic techniques, providing comfort to patients, and ensuring the Operating Room is properly set up for surgical procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients' skin for surgery in accordance with hospital standards.
• Maintain aseptic techniques during surgical procedures.
• Transport patients to and from the Operating Room suite.
• Identifies and cares for biological specimens.
• Prepare the Operating Room by setting up tables, instruments, and supplies according to type of case.
• Assist the surgical team by establishing and maintaining a sterile field, passing instruments, and sutures as directed by the physician.
• Ensure preference cards are kept up to date.
• Demonstrate clinical expertise in the use and care of surgical supplies, instruments, and equipment.
• Perform assigned patient care responsibilities while accommodating the unique needs of each patient.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of a Surgical Technology program or an accredited LVN/LPN program is required.
• BLS certification from AHA is required.
• Certified Surgical Technologist or LVN/LPN License is required.
• Two or more years of experience in a surgical setting is preferred.
