Registered Nurse - Neurosciences Unit (Night Shift)

Schedule

12-hour night shifts, 7 PM to 7:30 AM, available on Friday/Saturday/Sunday or Saturday/Sunday/Monday. Holiday work is required as needed.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide comprehensive care to patients in a neurosciences unit. The unit caters to patients with neurological disorders and post-operative needs, particularly regarding surgeries involving the spine and deep brain stimulation. The RN will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest standards of patient care and safety.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments to develop and implement care plans.
• Administer medications and manage patient IV therapy.
• Monitor patients' vital signs and neurological status.
• Document all patient interactions and changes in condition using EPIC.
• Coordinate with physicians and support staff regarding patient care and treatment plans.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN license required.
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required, ACLS preferred.
• Proficiency in EPIC and strong neuro experience, including familiarity with G-tubes.
• Recent experience with telemetry monitoring is necessary; RNs are not required to read strips but must verify monitor tech reports.
