Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)

Job Description

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) will work as part of a team to provide physical therapy services under the direction and supervision of the physical therapist. The PTA will implement selected components of patient/client interventions, obtain data related to the interventions provided, and make modifications in selected interventions either to progress the patient/client as directed by the physical therapist or to ensure patient/client safety and comfort.

Responsibilities

• Assist the physical therapist in the treatment of individuals of all ages, from newborns to the elderly, who have medical problems or other health-related conditions that limit their abilities to move and perform functional activities in their daily lives.
• Provide patient care in in-patient, outpatient, and home health settings.
• Communicate effectively with employees, physicians, visitors, and administration.
• Adapt to diverse job situations that involve many different people and projects, demonstrating independent judgment.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program and current credentialing by the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies, Division of Professions and Occupations, State Physical Therapy Board.
• Verification of current instruction in Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience, primarily in outpatient settings preferred.
• Bi-lingual capabilities are helpful.

Schedule

Day Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
