Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees, while promoting safety for both patients and employees within the healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission and form individualized care plans.
• Identify teaching needs and collaborate with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
• Provide timely patient information for team conferences and ensure accurate documentation in medical records.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and prioritize patient/family education based on identified healthcare needs.
• Initiate discharge planning upon admission and patient teaching in anticipation of discharge.
• Communicate pertinent patient information to support continuity of care and patient safety.
• Train and supervise ancillary nursing personnel, delegating tasks as appropriate.
• Maintain a safe environment in accordance with nursing policies and procedures.
• Contribute positively to the unit's functioning by providing calm direction and reassurance.
• Assume charge responsibilities as requested, following orientation.
• Engage in professional growth through continuing education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS required prior to first shift (for specific assignment).
• Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience required.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position, starting ASAP for a 48-hour assignment.
