Registered Nurse - Night Shift - Step Down Unit

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift from 19:00 to 07:30, 3x12 hours. Weekend coverage required every other weekend, subject to change based on need.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing care to patients with higher oxygen demands, including those with renal issues, atrial fibrillation, and post-heart catheterization. The role includes monitoring patients who are stepping down from ICU care without ventilators or pressor support and managing telemetry patients.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage patients with higher oxygen demands.
• Administer medications including heparin, cardizem, amiodarone, and sotolol initiation.
• Provide cardiac telemetry and initiate appropriate interventions.
• Coordinate patient care with interdisciplinary teams including IV, respiratory, and social services.
• Perform high-level nursing procedures such as CBI, chest tube management, and blood product administration.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience in a similar setting.
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and a valid TN nursing license.
• 1 year of experience with EPIC electronic medical records.
• Charge nurse experience is preferred.
