Job Description
The Outpatient Physical Therapist evaluates all assigned patients and develops, implements, and modifies treatment plans in accordance with each patient’s needs and goals, in compliance with physician directions. This role includes responsibility for the delegation and direction of all discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients, ensuring the design of functional treatment programs that facilitate effective community reintegration.
The therapist serves as an educator for patients, families, students, coworkers, and themselves, while performing professional duties related to patient care, the development of therapy services, and program delivery. The individual must demonstrate behaviors and attitudes consistent with the organization’s mission and core values.
Responsibilities
- Completes comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients, utilizing clinical reasoning to develop appropriate treatment plans and goals.
- Documents all patient care in a clear, accurate, and timely manner, ensuring compliance with state, federal, and organizational guidelines.
- Acts as a supervisor and mentor in the student program, providing a positive learning environment with appropriate evaluations.
- Engages in continuous professional development and applies new knowledge to meet organizational objectives.
- Maintains an active professional license and adheres to state practice acts and regulatory agency requirements.
- Participates in performance improvement initiatives to enhance service quality.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Degree in Physical Therapy from an Accredited School.
- 1+ year of outpatient clinical experience.
- Current CPR Certification.
- Active physical therapist license in Texas.
