Registered Nurse - Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)

Job Description

The competent Registered Nurse practices independently in a cardiovascular operating room setting, demonstrating awareness of all relevant aspects of patient care. The role entails providing both routine and complex nursing care with capabilities to support long-range goals and plans while managing contingencies of clinical nursing. This position involves the administration of medications and treatments, along with effective patient education.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administer medications and treatments according to appropriate protocols, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers.
• Make appropriate assignments and delegate tasks to other care providers to manage clinical situations.

Schedule

This position requires 4, 10-hour shifts from Tuesday to Friday, 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
• A minimum of two years of experience in cardiovascular operating room nursing (CVOR) and EPIC charting experience required.
• RN License in the state of Texas or compact state.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association only) required.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
