Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring that the nursing care plan is followed. This position supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees. The RN plays a crucial role in promoting patient and employee safety while delivering superior quality care.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission and develop individualized care plans.
• Identify teaching needs and collaborate with patients, families, and the Interdisciplinary team to set goals.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and provide direct care utilizing the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission.
• Communicate changes in patient status effectively to support continuity of care.
• Train and supervise ancillary nursing personnel, ensuring safe practices and effective teamwork.
• Contribute positively to unit functioning and participate in team-building activities.
• Maintain communication with management regarding service needs, supplies, and equipment.
• Assume charge responsibilities as requested post-orientation.
• Pursue professional development through continuing education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to the first shift (specific to certain units).
• Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.

Schedule

This position operates on a night shift schedule of 3x12 hour shifts.
