Registered Nurse (RN) - Patient Care

Job Description

Responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Directs and coordinates nursing care for patients based on nursing practice standards. Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to provide quality, cost-effective, and efficient care to achieve the best possible patient outcomes. Serves as a resource person when required, applying age-specific considerations and cultural diversity when rendering patient care. Supports the mission of the healthcare organization and is responsible for the care of all patients from birth to elderly.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process in the provision of patient care.
• Administer treatments and medications, interpret diagnostic tests.
• Provide patient, family, and significant other education.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals for comprehensive care delivery.
• Supervise unit secretaries and Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) in collaboration with the Charge Nurse.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must have completed a nursing education program from an NLN approved institution.
• Preferred one year of experience in a healthcare setting as a Registered Nurse.
• Must be licensed in good standing in the State of Alaska as a Registered Professional Nurse.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Schedule

This position follows a Monday to Friday schedule.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
