Registered Nurse (RN) - Pediatric and Adult Care

Job Description

The position is responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process, which includes assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The Registered Nurse will direct and coordinate nursing care for patients based on nursing practice standards and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure quality, cost-effective care to achieve the best possible patient outcomes. This role involves applying age-specific considerations and embracing cultural diversity while rendering patient care, aligned with the organization's mission statement.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial assessments and re-assessments every 24 hours for all patients, ranging from birth to elderly.
• Administer treatments and medications, interpret diagnostic tests, and provide patient and family education.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care management.
• Manage care across the continuum of care, demonstrating cognitive and technical knowledge.
• Serve as a resource person when necessary and exhibit flexibility within work schedules.
• Utilize effective therapeutic communication while managing behavioral health patients.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must have completed a nursing program from an NLN approved institution.
• New graduates are welcome; prior experience preferred based on the position.
• Must be licensed in good standing as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of Alaska.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training is necessary.

Schedule

This position requires assessing and caring for patients on both days and nights.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
