Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN)

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Shifts will be either 3x12-hour Days (07:00 - 19:00) or Nights (19:00 - 07:00), depending on facility needs at the time of the start date.

Job Description

The Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care for a diverse population in an acute care medical center. The RN will work within their scope of practice, collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor patient conditions and report changes to the healthcare team.
• Provide education to patients and their families regarding health management.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using Epic charting system.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care plans.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active Alaska RN License required.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a medical surgical nursing role.
• BLS and ACLS certifications preferred.
• Experience with blood product administration, central line care, and telemetry monitoring.
