Sterile Processing Technician - Night Shift

Schedule

This position requires a night shift schedule of three 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, specifically on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, with holiday rotation.

Job Description

The Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) plays a vital role in infection control and patient safety by ensuring the proper sterilization and handling of medical instruments. The position calls for experience with sterilization, decontamination, and assembly/wrapping of surgical instruments.

Responsibilities

• Sterilize, decontaminate, and wrap surgical instrumentation and trays.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the sterile processing department.
• Handle and prepare a variety of instruments for procedures in different specialties including neurology, urology, orthopedics, and more.
• Comply with safety standards and protocols to prevent infections.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to meet patient and facility needs.

Required Experience / Certifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in sterile processing or related field.
• Certification from CBSPD and/or HSPA is required.
• Experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center is required.
• Familiarity with neuro, GU, robotics, ENT, ortho, transplant, and gynecology cases is preferred.
