Surgical Technologist

Job Description

The Surgical Technologist will be present in the operating room, providing assistance to surgeons, nurses, and anesthesiologists. The role involves anticipating the necessary instruments required for surgery, ensuring efficiency, and maintaining focus on patient safety and care.

Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain the surgical field, collaborating effectively with surgical teams.
• Assemble, transport, and retrieve surgical equipment, ensuring all items are accounted for after procedures.
• Keep all necessary surgical equipment at the ready, including sterile linens, saline, lights, and suction machines.
• Inspect, maintain, decontaminate, and repair surgical equipment, maintaining up-to-date inventory records.
• Conduct pre- and post-surgery patient care, including shaving, transporting, and applying dressings.

Schedule

This position involves 8-hour shifts, from 06:30 to 15:00.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must have NBSTSA certification.
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
• A minimum of 3 years recent experience as a Surgical Technologist in a hospital setting.
