Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery

Schedule

This position requires night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with a guaranteed 36 hours per week.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse in Labor & Delivery will demonstrate the ability to perform comprehensive assessments, manage pain, and develop care plans tailored to patient needs. The nurse will provide age-appropriate care by considering growth and development principles, effectively manage medications, and ensure patient and family education on treatment and pain management.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough head-to-toe assessments and reassessments of patients.
• Evaluate and manage pain using appropriate methods and educate patients and families.
• Develop, revise, and evaluate the plan of care based on patient responses.
• Provide care while maintaining a safe environment and reducing errors.
• Engage in interdisciplinary collaboration to address patient needs.
• Document care accurately according to standards and policies.
• Perform technical skills safely and operate equipment correctly.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery experience is required.
• Postpartum and nursery experience is required.
• Active ACLS and BLS certifications through AHA are required.
• NRP certification is required.
• Current Ohio or compact RN license is required.
• BSN degree is preferred.
• If vaccinated for COVID-19, provide vaccination card.
• Skills checklist must be completed within the past year.
